Russell Granet, Director of Arts Education Resource presented a workshop on January 13, 2009 for the IISD-MSUFCU Institute for Arts & Creativity Kennedy Center Partners in Education Arts Integration teams. On January 14th, principals, administrators and arts education advocates attended a session with Russell to learn about their roles in providing support for teams in their respective buildings or districts. The following resources were distributed at or are included here as a follow-up to the workshop and meeting:

Arts Integration teams have been asked to submit four items related to their classroom arts integration project. The following blank forms are available for download here:

(1) ArtsEdNews listserv - see instructions for signing on below:
A new MDE-ARTSEDNEWS Announcement and Information LISTSERV is now available to distribute general Arts Curriculum announcements.
The Arts Curriculum Unit will use the MDE-ARTSEDNEWS LISTSERV to expand communication to administrators, building principals, teachers, parents, and community members – virtually any interested party who would like to receive current Arts Education information.
To join the LISTSERV, all that one must do is:
1) Send an email message to LISTSERV@LISTSERV.MICHIGAN.GOV
2) In the subject field, type SUB MDE-ARTSEDNEWS. Please note the space between SUB and MDE-ARTSEDNEWS
3) In the message body, type SUBSCRIBE MDE-ARTSEDNEWS Your Name. Be sure to type Your Actual Name. For example, SUBSCRIBE MDE-ARTSEDNEWS John Doe.
4) Send E-mail.
You should receive an email from LISTSERV asking you to reply to the message to complete your subscription. The purpose of this email is to confirm your request to be added to the list. You will then receive a second email notifying you that you have been added to the MDE-ARTSEDNEWS LISTSERV that will also include information on how to use the LISTSERV service. You can now search this site by arts education topic. Eventually, they will be adding Michigan Arts Standards, Benchmarks, and Credit Guidelines. But, you can currently search by topic, e.g. measurement or patterns and resources across content areas, including the arts, will be identified. These resources have been identified by Michigan teachers.
